I had decided at the beginning of this year to purchase my first home. I struggled with the idea figuring out if it was at all possible for me to afford it. As long as I can remember, I’ve always considered myself a very frugal person. I asked my friends their opinions on who to contact, what to do and everything seemed too overwhelming.
I remembered that I had a few friends who were realtors and one of them recommended that I talk to Gina Steed. I thought, what is the worst that can happen? She tells me no, I can’t afford it and I move on. So I placed the call and she answers, I immediately get nervous. She asks me some questions and I answer. She suggested attending her class that she conducts to teach first time homebuyers what they need to know. I immediately thought this was a brilliant idea and I agree to attend. Prior to attending her class, she sent me a package asking me for the necessary paperwork to get the process of the loan started. When I attended her class, she greeted me with a warm welcome. I sat eagerly listening to everything she had to say. I was extremely impressed with the class and it gave me the knowledge and confidence that this process was not so bad at all.
After the class ended, we went back to her office and gave her all my paperwork. Before she starts to figure out what I can afford, I immediately indicate to her my prudent approach to life. She turns to me and says, I completely understand and starts working. This made me feel more at ease!
After she had told me what I could afford and what the next step was, I was excited and found myself less nervous. Before I left her office, she insists on giving me a hug, which gave me the indication that I wasn’t just a client. I left feeling like a friend looking out for my best interests.
A few weeks pass, I found my dream home. I immediately contact Gina and let her know. She starts the process and everything goes fairly smoothly, considering it was a short sale. I thought it would be a long drawn out process as I heard from other people. I had mentioned to my realtor and Gina that I sort of had a deadline and both of them worked very hard to meet that deadline. From the day I placed the offer to the day I moved it, it took 3 months. She was there every step of the way, helping me with this process.
I feel that Gina made me feel like she was always there to answer even the most mundane questions. She made me feel special and made this experience way less stressful than I had originally anticipated. After my husband and I have been in search of our first home for several years, 2011 was the year that it happened thanks to our realtor and especially our lender, Gina Steed.
The minute I spoke to Gina for the first time, I knew she wouldn’t let us down. I can tell you this lady is passionate about what she does and she works hard for her clients. Our situation was purchasing a short sale and it was ongoing for a LONG and GRUELING 6 months.
Gina never stopped providing documentation for the seller’s agent when asked for it and was always one step ahead of the short sale process. If they asked her for it one day, they got it the same day. Her accuracy and professionalism is unremarkable.
She closed this escrow within a matter of weeks without hesitation, due to seller’s agent being so persistent in the last stretch of this sale.
