Mr. Lopez served as Vice President of Investments for Banc of America Investment Services before applying his talents in a greater capacity from 2004 to 2006 with LightHorse Ventures, a private equity fund. LightHorse Ventures was a fund specializing in raising venture capital for start-up businesses and distressed real estate before coming under significant pressure due to the downturn in the economy. At that point in his career, he refocused his energies, his 14 years of experience in financial services and investing, and dedicated himself to residential mortgage lending where he now works as Mortgage Advisor/Corporate Benefits Real Estate Director for RPM Mortgage.
Mr. Lopez is responsible for delivering mortgage and real estate services to his clients throughout the greater Bay Area or, as he likes to say, "Bringing the Bay Area home since 2006!" Drawing on his knowledge and experience has given him a unique skill set for the mortgage business. Matt takes a global view of his clients' entire financial situation as it relates to their mortgage and puts together a well thought out plan helping them better manage their entire financial lives. As he says, "It's not just a mortgage, but quite possibly, one of the largest financial transactions a person will ever undertake."
Mr. Lopez recently added Home Benefit IQ to his repertoire, offering real estate and mortgage services as an employee benefit that streamlines, adds transparency, accessibility and ease of use to the entire process of buying or refinancing a home. He lives in Concord with Barbara, his wife of 19 years, and their four daughters and serves his local community as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Lopez earned his B.A. degree in Social Science with an emphasis on Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
