Their Own Home for the Holidays
I first talked with my clients back in June. They were living with their in-laws and had no credit which limited them in making a home purchase. I advised them on how to build a credit profile and four months later they we were able to obtain a credit score, which then enabled them to start looking at homes! Since they were short of funds, I explained FHA financing as a great first-time home-buyer option, and also recommended an offer on the home in which the seller would pay the closing costs, helping them further. With an offer accepted and a closing date in December, our clients will have a very special holiday in their very own home.
Helping with Sound Advice
Most recently, I reached out to my client of over 15yrs. who was despondent! She had accumulated a lot of credit cards and her ARM had been reset. Her and her husband make a decent living but close to half of their monthly payments are going to their credit cards and a 1st & 2nd mortgage on their home. We took that amount down by 1/3 by helping her refinance. The most important lesson I took from it was that there are a lot of borrowers out there who simply pay their bills and don’t even consider refinancing because its too overwhelming. As a Loan Advisor, I realized that we have to reach out to provide education as we truly make a difference in our client’s lives.
Achieving a Lifelong Goal
We had a client close this week who was a woman in her mid-50s with a daughter who was disabled. Our client hadn’t purchased a home previously and we were able to connect her with a special government grant. Soon after, she brought us the rendering to her new home which was so impactful to see and share. Moments like this take the numbers off of the page and humanizes the process. It reminds us why it is we do what we do. We help people achieve a lifelong goal of homeownership.
